Abstract:
The aim of this study ware to know diversity levels and distribution patterns of five palms species in education forest reserve of Papua State University Anggori, Manokwari. Method used is systematic line plot sampling. Data collected were number of individuals of each palm species, soil textures and frequency of their presence in the observation plots. The diversity levels were identified using Shanon-Wienner Index, Variance-Mean Ratio used to estimate the distribution pattern. Results of the study describes the diversity levels (H’ 0,66 < Hmax 1,79) and evenness levels (E 38,85% < 100%) of palm species are relatively low. Hydriastele microspadix Becc., Caryota ruphiana, Areca macropalyx Zipp., and Pinanga rumphiana Becc., were clumped distribution (δ2/μ >1), while Rhopaloblaste ceramica is randomly distributed nearly uniformly (δ2/μ 0,92 < 1).
