dc.description.abstract The aims of this experiment wwas to clarify the effect of substitution of basal diet by cocoa pod silage on dry matter and nutrents intake of kacang goat. The experiment was done at Animal Field Faculty of Agriculture Cenderawasih University in Manokwari from November 1999 to February 2000. Four kacang goat with body weight from 15,5 to 19 kg and 1-2 years old were allocated to a 4 x 4 Latin Square Design (LSD. For treatment diets were 1) basal diet (control), 2) 90 % irian grass and 10 % of cocoa pod silage, 3) 80 % irian grass and 20 % of cocoa pod silage, 4) 70 % of irian grass and 30 % cocoa pd silage. Substitution of basal diet of irian grass bu cocoa pod silage had significant (P<0,01) effect on drymatter and nutrients intake. In conclusion, substitution on basal diet of irian grass by cocoa pod silage could be applied up to 30 % in kacang goat. en_US
