dc.description.abstract This article aims to reveal the ecological system of the language and the vitality of the language in the administrative environment of West Papua provincial government as an important part of the birth of the Papua Special Autonomy. Ecology language is polarized in the affirmative on the rights of the region, namely the recognition of and respect for the local language. Act 21 of 2001 on Special Autonomy for Papua present as one of the guarantees over concerns about the extinction of stronger regional languages. Typology of ecological language in West Papua province systematically structured in mind (cognition) of the speakers of regional languages and only works when the speakers of languages that interact in the environment, the natural environment and social environment. Typology of language ecology can be explored through ecolinguistic perspective with the aim to reveal the fact type of ecology, environment linkages linguistic, and ecological communities that produce new awareness for the generation of inheritors. This article focuses on the efforts of disclosure “Typology of Language Ecology in West Papua: Ecolinguistic Perspective”, by projecting issues include: (i) the legitimacy of the language typology, and (ii) the type of language ecology in West Papua province. en_US
