dc.description.abstract Ambonese Malay is one of the sub-variants of Malay in Indonesia which has long been used by speakers of languages in Maluku. Politically, in terms of political geography, Malay, including Ambonese Malay, has now become a means of glueing and unifying the nation's children. This study aims to reveal the Ambon Malay language marine pantun from an ecolinguistic perspective. The pantun data used in this study consisted of 40 (forty) pieces, with two approaches, namely (1) a theoretical approach and (2) a methodological approach. The theoretical approach is an exploration of ecolinguistic theory, while the methodological approach is a descriptive approach with an explanative dimension. This study follows the procedures of (1) data provision stage, (2) data analysis stage, and (3) data analysis stage presentation stage. The results of the analysis of the Ambonese Malay marine pantun include: (1) ecolinguistic trilogy, namely (a) ideological dimensions, (b) psychological dimensions, and (c) sociological dimensions; and (2) ecolinguistic parameters, namely (a) interrelationships ‘language and environment interconnection’, (b) environment ‘physical and socio-cultural environment), and (c) diversity‘ language and environmental diversity ’. The practical implication of this study is that it can be used as a basic reference in the practice of natural resource development in the Maluku Islands, while the theoretical implication is that ecolinguistic theory has not been able to identify all the sociocultural aspects of the Ambon Malay pantun, so theoretical collaboration in other fields of science is needed to complement the theory en_US
