Abstract

The Somi River in Prafi District is one of the rivers used by residents in Somi Village, Knagbey Village and Yaser Village. Until now there has been no continuous accurate data in the period regarding the quality of the water. The study was conducted to determine the composition and composition parameters Physical parameters Chemical River Water Somi. The results of the comparative descriptive analysis of water quality standards according to PP. No. 82 Tahun 2001 shows that, the value of the composition of physical parameters observed in the Upstream (ASS-1) and Downstream (ASS-2) is not significantly different, as is the composition of the chemical parameters. The level of values for the presence of water physical parameters consisting of temperature, color, odor, taste, TSS, turbidity, DHL, TDS, and the composition of water chemical parameters such as pH, DO, BOD, COD, Total Phosphate, Nitrate (NO3), Nitrite (NO2 ), Sulfate (SO4), Manganese (Mn), Six-valence Chrome (CrO6+), Iron (Fe), which were observed at the Downstream and Upstream Points also met the criteria for river water class II which could be used for freshwater fish cultivation. , livestock, water to irrigate crops (Agriculture). Local wisdom for the preservation of the surrounding nature needs to be raised and applied considering that the population will continue to increase and increase according to the series of measurements. The attention of the government and related agencies is needed to overcome the acquisition of clean water by utilizing the Somi river water so that in the future forest damage which results in contamination of the Somi river water can be controlled, for this it requires regular and continuous research and observation.
