Abstract:
War Aremi hot spring pool, is a hot spring pool located in Matatun Village, Kebar District, West Papua. Thermophilic Bacteria grow at a temperature of more than 45oC. Thermophilic Bacteria produce enzymes that are beneficial in the industrial world. This study is an exploratory study that aims to isolate thermophilic bacteria from the War Aremi Hot Spring Pool in Matatun Village, Kebar District, Tambrauw Regency, West Papua by using the Pour Plate Method From the results of the study, three thermophilic bacterial isolates were obtained from hot water samples, and four isolates from sediment samples. Based on the results of gram staining and cell morphology observations, the seven thermophilic bacterial isolates that were successfully isolated were a group of gram-positive bacteria with rod cell-shaped cell morphology. Based on the results of gram staining, observations of cell morphology and biochemical characterization, all seven bacterial isolates belong to the genus Bacilus.
