Abstract:
The aim of this study was to estimate the performance and diversity of 9 sago genotypes from Kampung Marau based on quantitative characters. The research was carried out in Marau Village, Oridek District, Biak Numfor Regency from March 2020 to May 2020. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with direct observation of sago plants. The data obtained were analyzed using the Z test, Principal Component Analysis, Biplot Analysis, cluster analysis. The results showed that there were three characters that showed the greatest performance in 9 types of sago plants in Marau Village. There are 4 main components that cause variation in the observed sago genotypes. The first component consisted of the characters number of tillers, number of mature leaves, number of leaflets, stem height, and leaf bone diameter. The second component is the length of the leaflets, the length of the main leaf bone, the length of the petiole and the diameter of the stem. The third component is leaf length, petiole width and leaf bone diameter. The fourth component is the width of the mature leaf, the circumference of the stem and the diameter of the stem. The characters that showed the greatest diversity were stem height and leaf bone length. There are three main clusters based on the level of similarity of sago genotypes from Kampung Marau. The first cluster consisted of the makbon genotype. The second cluster consisted of sawer, ramba, sworu, abiryob, noom and snaf genotypes. The third cluster consisted of insarek and sasurai genotypes
