Abstract:
This study was to determine the level of community participation and in the Community Seedling Plantation (KBR) development program in Wasai Village and Arfai I Village in South Manokwari District, Manokwari District and to know the factors that influence the level of community participation, then formulated management efforts to optimize community participation. Communities that were members of the KBR program were community groups of various types of professions, ethnicities and genders. The level of community participation in the KBR program was included in the high category for the whole set of activities in the KBR. For activities related to technical knowledge on planting and administration, community participation was still low. A decisive factor in the implementation of the KBR program was the direct involvement of community leaders was very necessary because it played an important role in motivating the community to involve themselves actively in parts of the KBR program. In addition, financial benefits for individuals and village communities from this KBR activity became another determining factor that motivated the community to actively join the KBR program. An alternative formulation offered in the preparation of KBR activities was the socialization factor needed to be designed to be more effective, so that the community could understand whatwasthe procedure for implementing the KBR program, especially activities relating to technical knowledge? The next factor, the involvement of other community leaders was a concern for the implementation of the KBR program because they were role models in social life. Furthermore, collaborative programs with multi-stakeholders would be able to provide multiple benefits for the community as part of regional and national development goals.
