dc.description.abstract The waters of Lembata district is a productive area that have some variation of habitat’s characteristic to marine biota. The one can not be found is bivalvia. The aim of this research is to find out the abundance of bivalvia in the waters of Lamahora Lembata District, Province East Nusa Tenggara. This research was conducted around December 2017 until January 2018. The identification of bivalvia uses the book of recent and fossil Indonesian Shells, use with line transect method that combined with quandrum method. Based on the research can be found 12 species from 8 families, such as Mytilidae, Pinidae, Cardiidae, Placunidae, Arcidae, Mactridae, Glycymerididae, and Veneridae. The calculation result of highest availability frequency is 1,00% and the lowest is 0,22%, the highest abudance is 1,39 ind/m² and the lowest is 0,33 ind/m², and for the highest density is 0,204 ind/m² and the lowest is 0,24 ind/m². The functions of bivalvia are to supply of food, to keeps environment stablity, and bioindicator. en_US
